Biography

Alison is a hands-on fundraising consultant and works on major appeals as well as short term assignments for national, regional and local charities. She has a proven track record of achieving targets and has raised over £4 million for a wide range of causes.

As a qualified trainer and facilitator she also provides training in face-to-face fundraising for trustees and runs workshops on various themes depending on client requirements. Prior to becoming an independent fundraising consultant Alison spent 6 years as a major gift fundraiser for the University of Bristol and the University of Gloucestershire. She helped to build many new donor relationships for those organisations and enjoyed working on a wide variety of projects from cancer research to fine art.

Alison has worked with FTSE 100 companies in the field of corporate social responsibility at the Prince of Wales Business Leaders Forum. There she worked with leading international hotel chains to promote what is now a well-established environmental programme, saving precious local resources in Asia and Africa as well as improving company profitability. Later, at Business in the Community in Bristol she advised companies in developing effective community programmes in the Bristol and South West region. She was a founder member of the networking group Women in Management Bristol.
